Cardinal Luis Tagle of the Philippines and Ghanaian Cardinal Peter Turkson are top contenders to be the next pope, said Andrew Chesnut, the Bishop Walter F. Sullivan chairman in Catholic Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University.[1] This confirms what I said on The Alex Jones Show a couple of days ago.
However, the sudden push for Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle is something new that might upset the making of the first African pope. Cardinal Tagle is seen as a key figure by the Chinese Communist Party in the Vatican’s engagement with China, particularly due to his Chinese ancestry and his Filipino background. He is viewed as a bridge between Rome and Beijing, especially given the complex relationship between the Catholic Church and the Chinese government that has given billions to the Vatican since the arrival of the late Jesuit Pope Francis.
Amongst other sources, this shocking truth was also confirmed in 2020 by a Chinese exiled billionaire who has accused the Chinese government of giving the Vatican £1.6 billion every year in bribes to prevent it from criticizing Beijing’s sweeping clampdown on religion. Fugitive tycoon Guo Wengui even claimed publicly in a podcast that the Communist Party had been paying the Holy See generously since 2014 because Beijing “wanted the Vatican to shut up about China’s religious policies.” U.S.-based Guo, now 57, said in the interview that the Communist country had also spent large sums to muzzle other countries – including Italy and Australia – from voicing concerns.[2]
There is no official bilateral relationship between the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the Holy See. The Holy See has recognized the Republic of China (Taiwan) as the representative of China ever since the establishment of relations with the ROC government in 1942. However, thanks to the late pedophile and defrocked Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, an agreement was signed in September 2018 between the PRC and the Holy See which allowed the pope to appoint and allegedly veto bishops approved by the CCP. In October 2024, the Vatican and China extended their “Provisional Agreement regarding the Appointment of Bishops” for another four years, after renewing it in 2022, but nobody knows the content aside from the Vatican saying absolutely nothing about the control and restrain of Christianity within its borders. Since 2016, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.”
As I wrote on leozagami.com in June 2022, “Three early popes were from the Roman African Province. These were Pope Victor I (reigned c. 189 to 199), Pope Miltiades, (reigned 311 to 314), and Pope Gelasius I (492 to 496); all three were North African men, but this time the next Pope will come from the heart of Africa as pointed out by my most trusted sources in the Vatican.”[1]
Of course, he is also the Afro-American option with anti-Trumpian Wilton Daniel Gregory (born December 7, 1947) a “Woke” American Catholic prelate who served as Archbishop of Washington from 2019 to 2025. Pope Francis made him a cardinal in 2020, the first of African American descent.

Nikita Casap, 17, was arrested in March 2025 and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of hiding a corpse, according to Waukesha County authorities. Other charges include theft of property over $10,000 and misappropriation of an ID to obtain money. Court documents show investigators are pursuing federal charges including conspiracy, presidential assassination, and use of weapons of mass destruction. Newly unsealed federal records show the murders were part of a much larger plot which included plans to overthrow the government and assassinate President Donald Trump and public information suggests that Nikita Casap was possibly communicating and planning with other individuals. Authorities have been investigating the extent of this alleged communication and any potential involvement of other individuals that are allegedly linked to the infamous Order of Nine Angles (ONA; O9A) who I haveanalyzed indetail in Volume 5, thanks to a series of internal documents I will now discuss in relation to Casap’s actions which seem to be 100% in line with the Order’s directives.
The teen’s stepfather, Donald Mayer, 51, and mother, Tatiana Casap, 35, were both found dead inside their home by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department on March 1, according to a press release from the department, according to prosecutors, but the teenager stayed inside the home with their bodies for 12 days. Now, this is very important, as I wrote in Confessions of an Illuminati Volume5, after the human sacrifice is carried out by a member, or aspiring member of the ONA, “through either physical or magical means,” the “killer is believed to absorb power from the body and spirit of the victim, thus entering a new level of sinister consciousness.” Police arrested Casap weeks later after he was found in Kansas with his stepfather’s car, a gun, and $14,000. The motive for the murders, according to the federal warrant, was to use that money to fund a plan calling for the president’s assassination to “foment a political revolution in the United States” and “save the white race.” According to the records, Casap shared an affinity for the Order of Nine Angles.
And as I wrote in Volume 5, the writings of the ONA, “condone and encourage human sacrifice, a truly horrific thing, referring to their victims as offers. The ONA outlines their views on human sacrifice in several documents: A Gift for the Prince – A Guide to Human Sacrifice, Culling – A Guide to Sacrifice II, Victims– A Sinister Exposé, and Guidelines for the Testing of Offers. According to the ONA’s beliefs, the killer must allow their victim to ‘self-select’ and this is achieved through testing the victim to see if they expose perceived character faults. If this proves to be the case, the victim is believed to have shown that they are worthy of death, and the sacrifice can commence.”
Now another important element for the investigation on Nikita Casap, can also be this passage I wrote in Volume 5 based on their writings: “Those deemed ideal for sacrifice by the group include individuals perceived as being of low character, members of what they deem ‘sham-Satanic groups’ like the Church of Satan and even Aquino’s Temple of Set, which is equally as dangerous, as well as ‘zealous, interfering Nazarenes,’ journalists, business figures, and political activists who disrupt the group’s operations.”
President Donald J. Trump is disrupting “the group’s operations,” and is seen as a threat as he is fighting human trafficking and pedophilia on a level never seen before. Many ONA members openly view pedophilia and rape as an effective way to undermine society by transgressing against its norms. By their own admission, they commit such crimes and ONA texts such as “The Dreccian Way”,“Iron Gates”, and “Bluebird” as well as the monstrous, “The Rape Anthology” recommend and even praise rape and pedophilia, suggesting rape is necessary for “ascension of the Ubermensch.”
To advance in rank, ONA members must perform assaults, lynching, and sexual assault being the most recommended. Material promoting pedophilia has also appeared in ONA’s in-house magazines Fenrir and Drums of Tophet, the latter of which also contained “borderline [child porn].” According to BBC News, “the authorities are concerned by the number of pedophiles associated with the ONA.” In Volume 5, I wrote that their inner circle is “called the Ayin Quadma’ah Movement,” but, “The ONA lacks any central authority or structure, they instead operate as a broad network of associates – termed the collective – who are inspired by the texts originally authored.” Casap also referenced a 3-page manifesto and was quoted as saying, “As to why, specifically Trump, I think it’s obvious. Getting rid of the president and perhaps the vice president, is guaranteed to bring in some chaos.” The number 333 shown in a publicly available pic by a proud ninja-looking member of the Order of Nine Angles on the alleged place of his crime, is linked to Choronzon the demon of chaos that originated within the writings of 2 16th-century occultists Edward Kelley and John Dee within the latter’s occult system of Enochian magic.
As I wrote in Confessions of an Illuminati Volume 4:“Choronzon 333 is Crowley’s ruler of the Abyss. It is interesting to note here that the demon Crowley popularized, is equivalent to the Gnostic Demiurge Ialdaboath and the Kabbalistic Demon Samael, and as Anthony Testa writes, he is also identified in the Enochian system as the ‘Death Dragon’.” The records also show Casap discussed buying a drone to use in a series of attacks on the platforms TikTok and Telegram. Investigators said he told a classmate, “When they saw 10 consecutive attacks in the news, it would have been him.” The number 10 is often associated with themes of completion, perfection, and a new cycle of growth and transformation in the occult.
As I explain in Volume 5, according to the Order’s own account, the ONA “was established in the Welsh Marches of Western England during the late 1960s, by a woman who had previously been involved in a secretive pre-Christian tradition. This account also states that in 1973, a man named Anton Long was initiated into the group, subsequently becoming its Grand Master. Several academic commentators who studied the ONA, express the view that the name ‘Anton Long’ is probably the pseudonym of the British Neo-Nazi activist David Myatt, although Myatt has denied that this is the case. From the late 1970s onward, Long authored several books and articles propagating the Order’s ideas, and in 1988, they began production of their own journal, Fenrir. Through these ventures it established links with other Neo-Nazi Illuminati Satanist groups around the world, furthering their cause through embracing the internet in the 2000s, spreading like a malignant cancer in our society, without any possible control, well beyond the boundaries of traditional Generational Satanism.”
In 1998, Myatt converted to Islam and remained a practicing Muslim for eight years, and in time he encouraged violent jihads against Zionism and Israel’s Western allies as many other brainwashed puppets whose connections with the occult and Satanism I’ve exposed in Confessions of an Illuminati Volume 10: Islamic Freemasonry and the Secret Societies Behind the Eternal Conflict in the Middle East. Publicly known crimes involving the ONA started to surface in the summer of 1997 when two members of the Swedish ONA group called Misanthropic Luciferian Order perpetrated the so-called Keillers Park murder, an alleged ritual sacrifice of an Algerian man. The men were eventually convicted of a hate crime. Twenty years later, Ryan Fleming of the Yorkshire-based ONA nexion, Drakon Covenant, was sentenced to three years in jail for the rape of a 14-year-old girl, after being convicted of sexual assault and torture of a minor. In 2024, the FBI released files stating that a string of 2019 arson attacks against black churches were connected to the ONA, and on September 23, 2019, Specialist Jarrett William Smith, 24, of Fort Riley, Kansas, was charged with distributing information related to explosives and weapons of mass destruction, this is interesting because Nikita Casap was arrested in Kansas, and since then the situation got worse with way too many crimes to mention in a short article. A strategy of tension is a political policy created to instigate a general feeling of insecurity in the population and make sure people seek security in a strong government. The original “Strategy of Tension” was outlined in a document that came to light in October 1974. Dated November 1969, it was one of several dispatches sent to Lisbon by the Aginter’s Italian correspondents. The Aginter Press, also known under the name Central Order and Tradition (Portuguese: Ordem Central e Tradição), was an international anti-communist mercenary organization disguised as a pseudo-press agency set up by the CIA. The document was entitled “Our Political Activity,” and from that moment onwards the strategy of tension will be identified with the “Years of Lead” in Italy from 1968 to 1982, where alleged far-left Marxist groups and far-right neo-fascist extra-parliamentary groups were used as useful idiots by state intelligence agencies and the CIA to perform bombings, kidnappings, arsons, and murders through projects such as Operation Gladio the codename for clandestine “stay-behind” operations organized by NATO and the CIA, in collaboration with European intelligence agencies and under the supervision of Masonic Lodges like the P2.
The NATO security doctrine regarding these operations was ultimately justified by the fight against Communism when they were eventually exposed in the early 1990s at the end of the Cold War.
A sense of panic is spreading in Europe as the Trump admin is considering giving up NATO command that has been exclusively American since Eisenhower, and Europe’s NATO members are now starting to think of a NATO without the United States. “This is a crisis, “one U.S. military official told Newsweek earlier this month. “You are incredibly vulnerable,” they added, referring to the situation facing Europe. “Your European way of life is essentially dependent on Finland and Poland right now.” Some European countries have stormed ahead. The Baltic States within touching distance of Russian soil, as well as Poland, have pledged to exceed 3 percent of GDP on defense spending or more. Other countries, particularly those further west in Europe, like Italy and Spain, have not touched the 2-percent requirement outlined for NATO members and even if European defense spending surged by almost 12 percent in real terms in 2024, increasing for the 10th consecutive year, European military spending still accounts for less than a third of NATO’s total defense spending.
Confirming that Trump wants out of Europe are the recent text messages from a group chat of U.S. senior-most national-security officials now at the center of a U.S. national security debacle started by the anti-Trumpian editor of The Atlanticmagazine, who was inadvertently included in a chat on Signal. The said chat is not only about the Houthi attacks as widely reported but is showing European leaders how the Trump administration talks about them behind closed doors and it’s not in nice terms:
“I just hate bailing Europe out again,” Vice President J.D. Vance wrote.
“I fully share your loathing of European free-loading. It’s pathetic,” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth responded.
The Trump administration is completely right about their assertions, but Jesuit-controlled Europe wants to solve this situation with a direct confrontation with Russia.
When European leaders met today in Paris, it’s on behalf of the warmongers of the Franco–German alliance created by the Jesuits after the Second World War.
As I wrote in Confessions of an Illuminati Volume 9, “While Putin wants Ukraine’s adherence to the Eurasian Economic Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan),” the U.S. Deep State and the EU “want Ukraine to become part of the EU and NATO, so the Europeans and their British allies can populate it with military bases and control it through IMF debts and other strategic tools of oppression typical of the New World Disorder.”
In the meantime, as I also wrote in Volume 9, “Ukraine’s desperation and cannon-fodder status before and during NATO’s ongoing proxy war, make it the ideal testing ground for the ultimate ‘Faustian Bargain,’ where various Fourth Industrial Revolution rollouts are ongoing, before being foisted upon the rest of us,in name of the Great Reset.” In 2021, the European Parliament stated that “The World Economic Forum (WEF) is seeking to achieve progress in the right direction through the ‘Great Reset’ of capitalism, with the COVID-19 pandemic providing a suitable opportunity to put this idea into practice.” The pandemic ended but Russia invaded Ukraine in a major escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War, which started in 2014, providing a new opportunity for EU leaders who recently green-lighted a massive European rearmament Plan. The spending plan is explicitly designed to decouple from reliance on America for weapons and security, with Commission President Ursula von der Leyen saying that Europe “must buy more European” and strengthen the European defense technological and industrial base but Europe’s half-baked rearmament boom is already turning into a fiasco.
Never underestimate Europe’s Jesuit capacity to disappoint. Rearmament euphoria and the explosive catch-up rally in European industrial stocks over the last month have run ahead of hard fiscal facts. Italy and Spain do not have credible plans to ramp up defense spending as they are broke, nor does France when you drill into the details. The Club Med bloc and Belgium are already in an incipient compound interest trap of rising real borrowing costs (as is the UK). So, what’s next? The answer is a new strategy of tension to push the Europeans to embrace the rearmament that will inevitably make them broke as the European Military Industrial Complex grows richer. As I wrote in Confessions of an Illuminati Volume 7, “in this devilish context the famous quote from Milton’s Paradise Lost, ‘Better to reign in Hell, than serve in Heaven.’ The Left seeks hell on earth, that’s why they placed the statue of Moloch, once revered by Phoenicians amongst others, at the Colosseum, just in time for the launch of their biological warfare/pandemic, and to accomplish this project they use Global Policing, while, of course, they continue in secret with their evil Satanic practices.”
But now that the COVID pandemic is finished the same strategy of tension instigated during the pandemic can be used regarding a potential confrontation with Russia. The strategy in question was unveiled yesterday by the European Commission and includes a list of 30 concrete actions it says EU member states need to take to boost their preparedness against potential future crises ranging from natural disasters and industrial accidents to attacks by malicious actors in the cyber or military domains. “In the EU we must think differently because the threats are different, we must think bigger because the threats are bigger too,” said Hadja Lahbib, the Commissioner for humanitarian aid and crisis management, while another leftist clown positioned next to her called Roxana Mînzatu, from the Social Democratic Party (PSD) of Romania, who works for the Commission for preparedness, added that the bloc is “not starting from scratch. The COVID pandemic has shown that the added value of acting together in solidarity, in coordination in the European Union framework is absolutely crucial, this is what makes us more efficient, makes us stronger.” Mînzatu’s mention of the COVID pandemic confirms the continuation of their evil strategy of tension. Strangely enough, Hadja Lahbib was once on good terms with Russia, as she even went to Sevastopol in Crimea in 2021 to the “Global Values” festival, which was organized at the time by Katerina Tikhonova, daughter of Vladimir Putin. But things have changed for her in the EU Fourth Reich, and she later called the occupation of Crimea illegal. The politics of Europe have never been decided by the Europeans but by the elite in places like the World Economic Forum and the Bilderberg Group, which are both operating under Jesuit control.
Prominent politicians, CEOs, national security experts, academics, and journalists who participate in such events are simply Jesuit puppets without a soul, like former head of NATO Jens Stoltenberg, who has been named the new co-chair of the influential Bilderberg Group, which will meet this year to decide the future of Europe in Stockholm, Sweden, near Bååth’s palace of the Swedish Rite of Freemasonry which Stoltenberg is part of, for the 71st Bilderberg reportedly scheduled for mid-June 2025.

Catholics in southeast Michigan welcomed their new chief progressive shepherd with exuberance as Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger took his seat in the cathedral on March 18, 2025, thereby becoming the sixth archbishop and 10th ordinary of the Archdiocese of Detroit.[1] This was made possible on February 11, 2025, only three days before Pope Francis was hospitalized and never seen again, as the first photo of Pope Francis in the hospital has not convinced some Vatican experts of its genuineness,[2] he appointed Bishop Edward J. Weisenburger, Bishop of Tucson from 2017 to 2025, as the sixth Archbishop of Detroit, succeeding Archbishop Allen Vigneron.
Weisenburger, who is said to have always been a favorite of the Jesuit pope, is a severe critic of President Donald J. Trump, especially his immigration policies. Only one day before Bishop Edward J. Weisenburger’s appointment, on February 10th, 2025, Pope Francis sent a letter to the bishops of the United States telling them in clear terms that they must resist President Trump’s immigration policy at all costs.
“I have followed closely the major crisis that is taking place in the United States with the initiation of a program of mass deportations,” the Pope wrote, adding soon after:
… the act of deporting people who in many cases have left their own land for reasons of extreme poverty, insecurity, exploitation, persecution, or serious deterioration of the environment, damages the dignity of many men and women, and of entire families, and places them in a state of particular vulnerability and defenselessness.His is not a minor issue: an authentic rule of law is verified precisely in the dignified treatment that all people deserve, especially the poorest and most marginalized. The true common good is promoted when society and government, with creativity and strict respect for the rights of all — as I have affirmed on numerous occasions — welcomes, protects, promotes, and integrate the most fragile, unprotected, and vulnerable. This does not impede the development of a policy that regulates orderly and legal migration. However, this development cannot come about through the privilege of some and the sacrifice of others. What is built on the basis of force, and not on the truth about the equal dignity of every human being, begins badly and will end badly.[3]
Seven years ago, during the first Trump presidency, Weisenburger suggested that people who “are involved” in those policies should, perhaps, be subjected to “canonical penalties,”[4] up to and including excommunication. It is difficult for one to imagine how such actions would accomplish the mission of the church to save souls. In advocating for the excommunication of political opponents, Weisenburger, the newly installed sixth archbishop of Detroit, both undermines the seriousness of the church and confuses the faithful about their moral responsibilities facilitating the rise of the Masonic “One World Religion,” which I’ve exposed in Volume 6.66, Volume 7, and Volume 9 of my Confessions. Finally, by being more involved in politics, the Jesuit-controlled church is trying to tip the political scales of the Catholics towards the Socialist/Communist style society that has always been envisioned by progressive Freemasons and their Illuminati agents, who are simply Jesuit puppets.
That’s why Pope Francis is a Jesuit who dislikes President Trump’s immigration policies, regardless of what some badly informed individuals say about Trump’s brief time at Fordham University where the Jesuits ended up hating him. In the meantime, the most recent Trump-Putin call on Ukraine shows once again that “the Ukraine conflict manipulated and secretly controlled by the elite Freemasons of the United Grand Lodge of England (MI6…66) with the support of the Davos elite and the Vatican, may shape the trajectories of a future fractured world,” as I wrote in Confessions of an Illuminati Volume 9, where I also warned that “In the short-term, anti-Russian sentiment has united the West, but in the long term, it is likely to accelerate its divisions and decline.” As the Jesuit-controlled European Union says, “Moscow is not interested in peace,”[5] when it is they who are not interested in peace so they can build the future of the European Fourth Reich with the Blessings of the Vatican on Ukraine’s ashes and rare earth minerals.

As most of you know, my first book in English was entitled Pope Francis: The Last Pope? Money, Masons, and Occultism in the Decline of the Catholic Church. Of course, this controversial title is connected to the “Prophecies” of St. Malachy, allegedly the work of a twelfth-century monk, though it first appeared in 1590 and is now widely considered a forgery, but in God’s world even a forgery might have some element of truth. The “Prophecy” contains a list of more than a hundred brief mottoes, said to describe more than a hundred popes, beginning with Celestine II (who served in the office from 1143–44). Counting forward, the prophecy would tie the next-to-last motto on the list to the late Benedict XVI.
So, will Francis be the final pope? Even supporters of the “Prophecy” in question have acknowledged at times their uncertainty regarding Francis as the final pope as the next Conclave keeps getting closer and closer.
The assumption of papal primacy has always been based on an alleged apostolic succession from Peter to the latest pope and this standard Roman Catholic teaching has been accepted for centuries by most Christians of all denominations and it rests on a particular interpretation of one key passage of Scripture, in which Jesus stated, “you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build My church… I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven” (Matthew 16:18–19). However, the Church in Rome, for the first 140 years of its existence did not have a presiding bishop,1 let alone a pope. To support this narrative the Catholic Church often cites the letters of Ignatius of Antioch, also known as Ignatius Theophorus, one of the early Christian writers and Patriarchs of Antioch who died around 107 A.D. are often used to argue for the monarchical episcopate in the first century.
However, Catholic patristic scholars highlight significant textual problems with the Ignatian manuscripts (including interpolations as well as forgeries).
Further, the term “bishop” (“episcopos”) in the New Testament is used interchangeably with the term “presbyteros” (elder) and cannot be used to prove an early monarchical episcopate. Here is a table demonstrating the problems with the Ignatian manuscripts. My friend Dr. Jules Gomes, (BA, BD, MTh, PhD), who has a doctorate in biblical studies from the University of Cambridge and is currently a Vatican-accredited journalist based in Rome and is the author of five books and several academic essays has recently explained in a detailed article originally entitled The New Vatican Statement: A Ticking Time Bomb published last year by The Stream,[1]and in a new updated version of the said article published a week ago on his Substack (https://drjulesgomes.substack.com/) that: “This is the most common consensus of Catholic, Protestant, and secular historians.” Adding in confirmation to his view a quotation from the eminent Catholic historian Eamon Duffy, who writes in his magisterial book Saints and Sinners: A History of the Popes, “All the indications are that there was no single bishop in Rome for almost a century after the deaths of the Apostles.”
The early followers of Jesus met in a “constellation of independent churches, in the houses of wealthy members of the community,” Duffy observes. Gomes also quotes historian Peter Lampe, whose book From Paul to Valentinus: Christians at Rome in the First Two Centuries is considered the definitive study on the subject: “Not until the second half of the second century, under Anicetus, do we find compelling evidence for a monarchical episcopacy.”
So, how did we go from a plurality of presbyters to Pope Boniface VIII, who in his bull Unam Sanctam (1302), would declare, proclaim, and define that “it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff.” And how did the Jesus Movement evolve from “nothing directly approaching a papal theory in the pages of the New Testament,” as Duffy puts it, to Vatican 1 declaring “papal infallibility” as dogma that must be obeyed on the pain of anathema? Well, the answer is in the instrumental use of Christianity by the Roman Empire and later the nascent Holy Roman Empire who would bring to life that forgery known as the Donation of Constantine (Latin: Donatio Constantini), a forged Roman imperial decree by which the 4th-century emperor Constantine the Great supposedly transferred authority over Rome and the western part of the Roman Empire to the Pope. Composed probably in the 9th century, that was used, especially in the 13th century, in support of claims of political authority by the papacy.
Now, let me explain how Pope Francis and the Jesuits have “planted a time bomb to detonate the Papal Supremacy,”[2] after his earthly departure making him de facto the last pope as I always predicted. Now, “According to Catholic teaching” as reported by Dr. Jules Gomes, “only one institution can tame the papal Leviathan — the papacy. And Pope Francis is doing it with all the delicacy of Emperor Titus’ armored elephants doing the Pyrrhic dance around the Colosseum.”
This papal-approved dossier produced with the help of the Jesuit Order, which claims to have the status of a “study document,” is indeed a time bomb carefully calibrated to keep ticking until it detonates the theory and practice of papal supremacy in the Roman Church after the death of Pope Francis. That’s why Americathe monthly Catholic magazine of the Jesuits of the United States published, on the same day the document in question was made public, an article entitled, What’s the right role of the Bishop of Rome and papal primacy? Vatican document seeks path to unity with other Christian churches.[3]In it the shameless Jesuits claim, “This study document comes 29 years after Pope John Paul II’s encyclical on the Catholic Church’s commitment to Christian unity,” and that “The Polish pope issued the invitation aware of how the primacy of the bishop of Rome has caused and still causes roadblocks to other Christian churches on the journey to the unity willed by Christ.” And that the new study document “contextualizes John Paul II’s invitation” as it recalls that “the understanding and exercise of the ministry of the Bishop of Rome entered a new phase with the Second Vatican Council.”
In reality, the document performs as Gomes says a “Samson-like suicidal feat”: as “it nobly announces that it is bringing the pontifical palace crashing down for the sake of ecumenical unity among the churches, as a response to Pope John Paul II encyclical on ecumenism.”
Here are seven takeaways from The Bishop of Rome and the document that confirms Pope Francis will be indeed the last pope as confirmed by the “Prophecies” of St. Malachy as well as myself:
The document admits it is no longer helpful to interpret “Petrine texts” in the Gospels to support papal supremacy.
“Contemporary exegesis has opened new perspectives for an ecumenical reading of the ‘Petrine texts,’” the document states. “Catholics have also been challenged to recognize and avoid an anachronistic projection of all doctrinal and institutional developments concerning papal ministry into the ‘Petrine texts,’ and to rediscover a diversity of images, interpretations and models in the New Testament.”
As my friend Jules wrote here, it vindicates Archbishop Peter Kenrick of St. Louis, Missouri, who demonstrated how most of the church fathers did not believe that the “rock” of Matthew 16:18 was Peter: 44 fathers understood the rock as Peter’s confession, 16 interpreted the rock as Jesus, 8 interpreted the rock as all the apostles, a few believed the rock to be the faithful. Only 17 fathers thought the rock was Peter.
“From this it follows, either that no argument at all, or one of the slenderest probability, is to be derived from the words, ‘On this rock will I build my church,’ in support of the primacy,” Kenrick concluded in a landmark response at Vatican 1.
“From the moment they appear in patristic literature at the beginning of the third century, the interpretations of Matthew 16:17–19 are multiple,” the Vatican document concedes, virtually repeating Kenrick’s findings. “But it is never forgotten that the first stone on which the Church is built is Christ himself.”
2. The document calls for reinterpreting the papal supremacist claims of Vatican I, including papal infallibility.
“Vatican I should be understood within the framework of its historical context,” the document insists, lamenting that the council’s “dogmatic definitions have proved to be a significant obstacle for other Christians with regard to the papacy.”
The document acknowledges that Vatican I was a product of its times and it hence historically contingent. “That Council had no intention of either denying or rejecting the tradition of the first millennium, to wit: the church as network of mutually communicating churches,” it recognizes.
Vatican I can only be correctly received in light of the teaching of the Second Vatican Council. Vatican II treated questions which had remained open at Vatican I,” it explains. On the question of papal infallibility it cites a Lutheran statement that “infallibility language is not intended to add anything to the authority of the Gospel, but rather to let that authority be recognized without ambiguity.”
3. The document incorporates the interpretations of Protestant and Eastern churches in understanding the Petrine office.
“The Bishop of Rome” summarizes 30 responses to John Paul II’s Ut unum sint and 50 ecumenical dialogue documents on the subject. It is loaded with quotes from the House of Bishops of the Church of England, the Bishops’ Conference of the Church of Sweden, the Presbyterian Church in the USA, the World Council of Churches. It liberally cites documents and dialogues with Anglican, Lutheran, Methodist, Old Catholics, Baptists, and Oriental and Eastern Orthodox churches.
For Pope Francis “today the Petrine ministry cannot be fully understood without this openness to dialogue with all believers in Christ,” it emphasis.
4. The document acknowledges universal papal jurisdiction did not exist in the first millennium.
Referring to the fact that the pope did not enjoy universal jurisdiction in the first thousand years of Christianity, the document quotes Cardinal Ratzinger (later Pope Benedict XVI): “As far as the doctrine of the primacy is concerned, Rome must not require more of the East than was formulated and lived during the first millennium.”
It also cites the Orthodox–Catholic international dialogue on Synodality and Primacy during the First Millennium, which notes “the right of appeal to major sees” but insists that “the bishop of Rome did not exercise canonical authority over the churches of the East.” Moreover, there is no evidence that the Oriental Orthodox Churches even accepted such a ministry.
5. The document acknowledges the response of historic Lutheran confessions to the problem of papal supremacy.
The two most important Lutheran doctrinal treatises on the Petrine office — Papacy: The Smalcald Articles (1537) and the Treatise on the Power and Primacy of the Pope (1537) are mentioned favourably in the Vatican document.
The document even quotes the Lutheran reformer Philip Melanchthon who argued that, if the pope “would allow the gospel,” the papacy’s “superiority over the bishops” could be granted iure humano (by human law). The Lutheran–Catholic dialogue in the USA introduced a general concept of “Petrine function,” which is not necessarily tied to a particular see or person, it observes.
6. The document acknowledges that the current model of papacy is itself the biggest obstacle to Christian unity.
Convinced that “the Pope […] is undoubtedly the gravest obstacle on the path of ecumenism,” Pope Paul VI, “by his gestures and statements, contributed in many ways to a new understanding of papal ministry,” the document records.
Pope John Paul II was equally “convinced that a mutually acceptable ministry of unity cannot be defined unilaterally.” Recognizing “we have made little progress in this regard,” Pope Francis has called for a “pastoral conversion” of the papacy, insisting that “today the Petrine ministry cannot be fully understood without this openness to dialogue with all believers in Christ.”
7. The document acknowledges that Pope Francis has been working intentionally towards downgrading papal supremacy.
As me and a few years later Dr. Jules Gomes predicted , Pope Francis was rewriting papal history from the start of his unprecedented Jesuit role and “taking the papacy down a peg or two” when he started shedding papal titles as I clearly indicated in Pope Francis: The Last Pope? “The Bishop of Rome” now admits with this document that this was his strategy from the beginning.
“In line with the pastoral practice of his recent predecessors, the emphasis of Pope Francis on his title of ‘Bishop of Rome’ from the beginning of his pontificate, the other pontifical titles now being listed as ‘historical’ (see Annuario Pontificio 2020), also contributes to a new image of the Petrine ministry,” it concedes.
While the document continues to maintain the historical, political, geographical, and ecclesial centrality of Rome and hence the claims of its bishop to “preside in love,” the ramifications of its “conclusions and methodology are explosive” says Dr. Gomes.
Indeed, the headline of the news story on the said document that appeared in the German bishops’ media last year says it all: “The Papacy should be Transformed from a Stumbling Block into the Cornerstone of Ecumenism,” but in reality this is only the kickstart of a Masonic-inspired project that as I explained in Confessions of an Illuminati Volume 7: From the Occult Roots of the Great Reset to the Populist Roots of The Great Reject, was planned for a very long time in lodges of Freemasonry and the Illuminati. That’s why Pope Francis’s own words reflect a total reversal of the supremacist claims of Pope Pius XI who at Vatican 1 declared that papal supremacy and universal jurisdiction was “supported by the clear witness of Holy Scripture” — a claim debunked by biblical exegesis that was nevertheless considered instrumental for centuries by the Church of Rome.
While Pius XI claimed, “the primacy of Peter over the whole Church,” Pope Francis finally admits that “the Pope is not, by himself, above the Church; but within it as one of the baptized.” But he does it not for setting us free with the truth as revealed in John 8:31-32 but rather to prepare the advent of the “One World Religion” of the Antichrist. Maybe that’s why Pope Pius XI warned that his teaching of papal supremacy was “the teaching of the Catholic truth, and no one can depart from it without endangering his faith and salvation.”
One wonders how Pius XI would react if he knew that 150 years later his successor would call for a reinterpretation of Vatican 1, complaining that “the dogmatic definitions of the First Vatican Council are a significant obstacle for other Christians” — the very followers of Jesus he would have condemned as heretics and schismatics.
As reported by the Jesuits in America, who cite Cardinal Koch, this “renewed understanding and exercise of papal primacy can contribute to the restoration of Christian Unity,”[4] and I’m sure some evangelical or Orthodox Christians might initially think this is a great idea, but of course they ignore the fact this is a Masonic/Jesuit project built for the destruction of Christianity in support of the rise of the ultimate Antichrist. Fortunately, St Malachy’s alleged “Prophesies” tell us that after the last Pope we will have the return of Jesus, so at least we have something to look forward too.

A report that will soon provide the public with a better understanding of would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks is expected to be released in the coming days, nearly seven months after his attempt on President Trump’s life. According to President Trump himself, who spoke with reporters from the Oval Office on Thursday afternoon, he intends to order the release of the FBI and DOJ reports on the assassination attempt next week, saying, “I want to find the answers. “You had one who had three apps, two of which were foreign, supposedly, and who has the biggest white shoe law firm in Pennsylvania, even though they don’t live in a white shoe area. What’s that all about?” the president continued.
Following the shooting, Trump had meetings with law enforcement officials, and ABC News was informed by sources that the meeting included information about Crooks, including his having three foreign email accounts and encrypted messaging apps tied to Belgium, New Zealand, and Germany, that they were able to access due to him having the passwords saved on his home computer. The contents of emails and messages linked to the accounts are yet to be made public, but I’ve explained in my latest book Confessions of an Illuminati Volume 11: The Past, Present, and Future of Mind Control from Sun Tzu to MK-ULTRA and Beyond, “Thomas Crooks, was potentially an easy target for a Psychological Operation conducted on U.S. soil by one of the corrupt federal agencies of the Deep State, or even a foreign adversary of our country.”
In the meantime, according to the New York Post, a team of private investigators run by Doug Hagmann, who was recently hired by an individual he described as a “private client,” uncovered that Crooks was part of a “criminal network,” saying, “We don’t think he acted alone,” something I had already confirmed with my unique analysis of the events that unfolded on July 13th, 2024 in Confessions of an Illuminati Volume 11.
Doug Hagmann interviewed more than 100 people about Crooks and the assassination attempt as well as conducted geofencing analysis tests on devices that were found in his home and at other locations he frequented, including the local gun range and Bethel Park High School, information that matched with what I found out in the first couple of weeks after the tragic event that cost the life of Corey Comperatore, who Trump honored during his great speech given during his 2025 address to a joint session of Congress.

Pope Francis has privately told confidants he may not survive an ongoing health scare that has seen him currently hospitalized. Citing two sources familiar with the situation, Politicoreported late Monday evening that the 88-year-old pontiff, who is being treated for “polymicrobial infection of the respiratory tract” at Gemelli Hospital in Rome, “is rushing to tie up loose ends ahead of the battle to succeed him.” The same outlet also said. “The battle to succeed Pope Francis is likely to be highly politicized, particularly given the pontiff’s recent clash with Catholic U.S. Vice President JD Vance,” but that’s only partially true as the Jesuit pope has been working for years on his succession by nominating an unmatched number of like-minded progressive cardinals, that will be in line with his Jesuit/Illuminati/Masonic progressive agenda for the next papal conclave, that as many of you may know is a gathering of the College of Cardinals convened to elect the next bishop of Rome, also known as the pope.
For this reason, even Hollywood has been preparing the world by recently releasing Conclave, a 2024 political thriller film directed by Edward Berger and written by Peter Straughan, based on the 2016 novel by Robert Harris. In the film in question, Cardinal Thomas Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes) organizes a conclave to elect the next pope and finds himself investigating secrets and scandals about the major candidates. In this context, Catholics consider the pope to be the apostolic successor of Saint Peter and the earthly head of the Catholic Church, but in recent years, as I explained in my books, and in particular, Volume 6.66, Confessions of an Illuminati Volume 7 and Volume 9, this role is also becoming central in the soon to be One World Religion, that has been formally established since 2019 thanks to Pope Francis and his Masonic and Illuminati Davos allies.
The said archbishop became a cardinal in August 2022, when Pope Francis created twenty new leftist-leaning cardinals including Robert McElroy of San Diego,[1] and only a couple of months ago, in early December 2024, Pope Francis installed another 21 new cardinals, many of whom are key figures in his leftist reform agenda, [2] which will help further cement his infamous legacy. Bergoglio has nominated 87% of the men who will soon elect his successor,[3] completely rigging the upcoming papal conclave. Pope Francis (r. 2013–present) created an unprecedented number of cardinals during his papacy at ten consistories held at roughly annual intervals beginning in 2014.
The Jesuit Pope’s appointments include the first Scandinavian cardinal since the Reformation as the Jesuits are now in full control of the protestant churches, the first cardinal from Goa since an episcopal see was established there in 1533, the place that became an important Jesuit stronghold, the first cardinal from Latin America’s indigenous peoples who first participated as the Guaraní people to the infamous so-called “socialist theocracy” experiments of the Company of Jesus in Latin America, as well as the first cardinal from India’s Dalit class historically linked to the Jesuits,[4] and also the first active head of a religious congregation close to the Society of Jesus. Just to give you an idea of this Jesuit coup d’état of the Catholic Church headed by the Jesuits, following the 2024 consistory, 110 cardinal electors were appointed by Pope Francis that amounts to 83% of the future electors, in contrast with only 67 cardinal electors by Pope Benedict XVI, and 113 of Pope John Paul II, who at the 2005 papal conclave, nevertheless appointed approximately 72% of the cardinal electors with his mega-consistories that were the first expand the international catholic identity of the College of Cardinals. It is a process that continues.[5]
There is one cardinal who seems to be a favorite in the next papal conclave who I have discussed in detail in Confessions of an Illuminati Volume 7: From the Occult Roots of the Great Reset to the Populist Roots of The Great Reject (Feb. 2022):

In May 2019 I had to leave everything I owned back in Europe and relocate to the United States with my wife. I did it to avoid being arrested for simply exposing the truth about the Jesuit Sabbatian-controlled New World Order in my books and in my articles and social media posts which made the corrupt Italian judiciary and police bankrupt me, lock me up on one occasion, and finally force me to leave Italy for good or risk arrest. Today, I’m still the subject of judiciary stalking from the Italian authorities and their infamous judges, who went as far as sending carabinieri (the national gendarmerie of Italy) to interrogate my old, sick mother in December 2024 on my whereabouts.
So, I was particularly happy when, on this historical day, in February 2025, Vice President JD Vance, somebody I voted for along with our beloved President Donald J. Trump, used his first major speech on the international stage at the Munich Security Conference, to criticize European leaders for retreating from “fundamental values” like free speech which stand at the core of western democracies defined as “shared values with the United States of America.”
Vance boldly and courageously warned the mostly hostile attendees of the event, that the biggest threats facing Europe are not from China or Russia, but the issue of mass migration and laws that restrict free speech in the European Union. “The threat that I worry the most about vis-à-vis Europe is not Russia, it’s not China, it’s not any other external actor,” Vance said. “And what I worry about is the threat from within.”
Vance added to a shocked audience of globalist puppets present in Munich, one of the strongholds of the German Illuminati: “I was struck that a former European commissioner went on television recently and sounded delighted that the Romanian government had just annulled an entire election. He warned that if things don’t go to plan, the very same thing could happen in Germany too.Now, these cavalier statements are shocking to American ears. For years we’ve been told that everything we fund, and support is in the name of our shared democratic values. Everything from our Ukraine policy to digital censorship is billed as a defense of democracy. But when we see European courts canceling elections and senior officials threatening to cancel others, we ought to ask whether we’re holding ourselves to an appropriately high standard. And I say, ‘ourselves’ because I fundamentally believe that we are on the same team.”
But are we? As I explained in detail in Confessions of an Illuminati Volume 7: From the Occult Roots of the Great Reset to the Populist Roots of The Great Reject, the EU is becoming the rising Fourth Reich “ushered in by Klaus and friends,” what we call “the Davos elite,” an Illuminati thinktank “made up of extremely influential people that can bend the rules,” and JD Vance knows it, that’s why he denounced them today stating: “Contrary to what you might hear, a couple of mountains over in Davos, the citizens of all of our nations don’t generally think of themselves as educated animals or as interchangeable cogs of a global economy.” Vance criticism was also addressed to the increasingly Orwellian United Kingdom, “where the backslide away from conscience rights has placed the basic liberties of religious Britons in particular in the crosshairs.”

God Bless America and the MAGA movement the last beacon of true freedom in the Western world as Europe falls to what Vance rightly described as “Cold War tyrants.”
Here’s a full transcript of the historical speech that JD Vance gave at the Munich Security Conference this afternoon.
One of the things that I wanted to talk about today is, of course, our shared values. And, you know, it’s great to be back in Germany. As you heard earlier, I was here last year as United States senator. I saw Foreign Secretary David Lammy and joked that both of us last year had different jobs than we have now. But now it’s time for all our countries, for all of us who have been fortunate enough to be given political power by our respective peoples, to use it wisely to improve their lives.
And I want to say that I was fortunate in my time here to spend some time outside the walls of this conference over the last 24 hours, and I’ve been so impressed by the hospitality of the people even, Of course, as they’re reeling from yesterday’s horrendous attack. And the first time I was ever in Munich was with my wife, actually, who’s here with me today, on a personal trip. And I’ve always loved the city of Munich, and I’ve always loved its people.
I just want to say that we’re very moved, and our thoughts and prayers are with Munich, and everybody affected by the evil inflicted on this beautiful community. We’re thinking about you, we’re praying for you, and we will certainly be rooting for you in the days and weeks to come.
We gather at this conference, of course, to discuss security. And normally we mean threats to our external security. I see many, many great military leaders gathered here today. But while the Trump administration is very concerned with European security and believes that we can come to a reasonable settlement between Russia and Ukraine, and we also believe that it’s important in the coming years for Europe to step up in a big way to provide for its own defense, the threat that I worry the most about vis a vis Europe is not Russia, it’s not China, it’s not any other external actor. What I worry about is the threat from within. The retreat of Europe from some of its most fundamental values: values shared with the United States of America.

We must do more than talk about democratic values. We must live them. Now, within living memory of many of you in this room, the cold war positioned defenders of democracy against much more tyrannical forces on this continent. And consider the side in that fight that censored dissidents, that closed churches, that cancelled elections. Were they the good guys? Certainly not.
And thank God they lost the cold war. They lost because they neither valued nor respected all of the extraordinary blessings of liberty, the freedom to surprise, to make mistakes, invent, to build. As it turns out, you can’t mandate innovation or creativity, just as you can’t force people what to think, what to feel, or what to believe. And we believe those things are certainly connected. And unfortunately, when I look at Europe today, it’s sometimes not so clear what happened to some of the cold war’s winners.
I look to Brussels, where EU Commission commissars warned citizens that they intend to shut down social media during times of civil unrest: the moment they spot what they’ve judged to be ‘hateful content’, or to this very country where police have carried out raids against citizens suspected of posting anti-feminist comments online as part of ‘combating misogyny’ on the internet.
I look to Sweden, where two weeks ago, the government convicted a Christian activist for participating in Quran burnings that resulted in his friend’s murder. And as the judge in his case chillingly noted, Sweden’s laws to supposedly protect free expression do not, in fact, grant – and I’m quoting – a ‘free pass’ to do or say anything without risking offending the group that holds that belief.
And perhaps most concerningly, I look to our very dear friends, the United Kingdom, where the backslide away from conscience rights has placed the basic liberties of religious Britons in the crosshairs. A little over two years ago, the British government charged Adam Smith Conner, a 51-year-old physiotherapist and an Army veteran, with the heinous crime of standing 50 meters from an abortion clinic and silently praying for three minutes, not obstructing anyone, not interacting with anyone, just silently praying on his own. After British law enforcement spotted him and demanded to know what he was praying for, Adam replied simply, it was on behalf of the unborn son.
He and his former girlfriend had aborted years before. Now the officers were not moved. Adam was found guilty of breaking the government’s new Buffer Zones Law, which criminalises silent prayer and other actions that could influence a person’s decision within 200 metres of an abortion facility. He was sentenced to pay thousands of pounds in legal costs to the prosecution.
Now, I wish I could say that this was a fluke, a one-off, crazy example of a badly written law being enacted against a single person. But no. This last October, just a few months ago, the Scottish government began distributing letters to citizens whose houses lay within so-called safe access zones, warning them that even private prayer within their own homes may amount to breaking the law. Naturally, the government urged readers to report any fellow citizens suspected guilty of thought crime in Britain and across Europe.
Free speech, I fear, is in retreat and in the interests of comedy, my friends, but also in the interest of truth. I will admit that sometimes the loudest voices for censorship have come not from within Europe, but from within my own country, where the prior administration threatened and bullied social media companies to censor so-called misinformation. Misinformation, like, for example, the idea that coronavirus had likely leaped from leaked from a laboratory in China. Our own government encouraged private companies to silence people who dared to utter what turned out to be an obvious truth.
So I come here today not just with an with an observation, but with an offer. And just as the Biden administration seemed desperate to silence people for speaking their minds, so the Trump administration will do precisely the opposite, and I hope that we can work together on that.
In Washington, there is a new sheriff in town. And under Donald Trump’s leadership, we may disagree with your views, but we will fight to defend your right to offer in the public square. Agree or disagree? Now, we’re at the point, of course, that the situation has gotten so bad that this December, Romania straight up cancelled the results of a presidential election based on the flimsy suspicions of an intelligence agency and enormous pressure from its continental neighbors. Now, as I understand it, the argument was that Russian disinformation had infected the Romanian elections. But I’d ask my European friends to have some perspective. You can believe it’s wrong for Russia to buy social media advertisements to influence your elections. We certainly do. You can condemn it on the world stage, even. But if your democracy can be destroyed with a few hundred thousand dollars of digital advertising from a foreign country, then it wasn’t very strong to begin with.
Now, the good news is that I happen to think your democracies are substantially less brittle than many people apparently fear.

And I really do believe that allowing our citizens to speak their mind will make them stronger still. Which, of course, brings us back to Munich, where the organizers of this very conference have banned lawmakers representing populist parties on both the left and the right from participating in these conversations. Now, again, we don’t have to agree with everything or anything that people say. But when political leaders represent an important constituency, it is incumbent upon us to at least participate in dialogue with them.
Now, to many of us on the other side of the Atlantic, it looks more and more like old, entrenched interests hiding behind ugly Soviet era words like misinformation and disinformation, who simply don’t like the idea that somebody with an alternative viewpoint might express a different opinion or, God forbid, vote a different way, or even worse, win an election.
Now, this is a security conference, and I’m sure you all came here prepared to talk about how exactly you intend to increase defense spending over the next few years in line with some new target. And that’s great, because as President Trump has made abundantly clear, he believes that our European friends must play a bigger role in the future of this continent. We don’t think you hear this term ‘burden sharing’, but we think it’s an important part of being in a shared alliance together that the Europeans step up while America focuses on areas of the world that are in great danger.
But let me also ask you, how will you even begin to think through the kinds of budgeting questions if we don’t know what it is that we are defending in the first place? I’ve heard a lot already in my conversations, and I’ve had many, many great conversations with many people gathered here in this room. I’ve heard a lot about what you need to defend yourselves from, and of course that’s important. But what has seemed a little bit less clear to me, and certainly I think to many of the citizens of Europe, is what exactly it is that you’re defending yourselves for. What is the positive vision that animates this shared security compact that we all believe is so important?
I believe deeply that there is no security if you are afraid of the voices, the opinions and the conscience that guide your very own people. Europe faces many challenges. But the crisis this continent faces right now, the crisis I believe we all face together, is one of our own making. If you’re running in fear of your own voters, there is nothing America can do for you. Nor for that matter, is there anything that you can do for the American people who elected me and elected President Trump. You need democratic mandates to accomplish anything of value in the coming years.
Have we learned nothing that thin mandates produce unstable results? But there is so much of value that can be accomplished with the kind of democratic mandate that I think will come from being more responsive to the voices of your citizens. If you’re going to enjoy competitive economies, if you’re going to enjoy affordable energy and secure supply chains, then you need mandates to govern because you have to make difficult choices to enjoy all of these things.
And of course, we know that very well. In America, you cannot win a democratic mandate by censoring your opponents or putting them in jail. Whether that’s the leader of the opposition, a humble Christian praying in her own home, or a journalist trying to report the news. Nor can you win one by disregarding your basic electorate on questions like, who gets to be a part of our shared society.
And of all the pressing challenges that the nations represented here face, I believe there is nothing more urgent than mass migration. Today, almost 1 in 5 people living in this country moved here from abroad. That is, of course, an all-time high. It’s a similar number, by the way, in the United States, also an all-time high. The number of immigrants who entered the EU from non-EU countries doubled between 2021 and 2022 alone. And of course, it’s gotten much higher since.
And we know the situation. It didn’t materialize in a vacuum. It’s the result of a series of conscious decisions made by politicians all over the continent, and others across the world, over the span of a decade. We saw the horrors wrought by these decisions yesterday in this very city. And of course, I can’t bring it up again without thinking about the terrible victims who had a beautiful winter day in Munich ruined. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and will remain with them. But why did this happen in the first place?
It’s a terrible story, but it’s one we’ve heard way too many times in Europe, and unfortunately too many times in the United States as well. An asylum seeker, often a young man in his mid-20s, already known to police, rammed a car into a crowd and shatters a community. Unity. How many times must we suffer these appalling setbacks before we change course and take our shared civilization in a new direction? No voter on this continent went to the ballot box to open the floodgates to millions of unvetted immigrants. But you know what they did vote for. In England, they voted for Brexit. And agree or disagree, they voted for it. And more and more all over Europe, they are voting for political leaders who promise to put an end to out-of-control migration. Now, I happen to agree with a lot of these concerns, but you don’t have to agree with me.
I just think that people care about their homes. They care about their dreams. They care about their safety and their capacity to provide for themselves and their children.
And they’re smart. I think this is one of the most important things I’ve learned in my brief time in politics. Contrary to what you might hear, a couple of mountains over in Davos, the citizens of all of our nations don’t generally think of themselves as educated animals or as interchangeable cogs of a global economy. And it’s hardly surprising that they don’t want to be shuffled about or relentlessly ignored by their leaders. And it is the business of democracy to adjudicate these big questions at the ballot box.
Embrace what your people tell you, even when it’s surprising, even when you don’t agree
I believe that dismissing people, dismissing their concerns or worse yet, shutting down media, shutting down elections or shutting people out of the political process. protects nothing. In fact, it is the most surefire way to destroy democracy. Speaking up and expressing opinions isn’t election interference. Even when people express views outside your own country, and even when those people are very influential – and trust me, I say this with all humor – if American democracy can survive ten years of Greta Thunberg’s scolding you guys can survive a few months of Elon Musk.
But what no democracy, American, German, or European will survive, is telling millions of voters that their thoughts and concerns, their aspirations, their pleas for relief, are invalid or unworthy of even being considered.
Democracy rests on the sacred principle that the voice of the people matters. There is no room for firewalls. You either uphold the principle or you don’t. Europeans, the people have a voice. European leaders have a choice. And my strong belief is that we do not need to be afraid of the future.
Embrace what your people tell you, even when it’s surprising, even when you don’t agree. And if you do so, you can face the future with certainty and with confidence, knowing that the nation stands behind each of you. And that, to me, is the great magic of democracy. It’s not in these stone buildings or beautiful hotels. It’s not even in the great institutions that we built together as a shared society.
